The club has been offered another fantastic fundraising opportunity for the worlds toughest half marathon, The Point to Pinnacle.  The Club has a long history of involvement in these types of community events and the funds received for supplying traffic control marshals, plays an important part in supporting the Club’s members and supporters.

The event will be held on Sunday 21st of November.
So if you’re a player, supporter, parent or friend of the club, 16 years of age or older, then you can help the club with volunteering your time to marshal the event.
For more information, please reach out to club volunteer coordinator (Phil Sargent), and he will be in touch with more information.
State Wide Cup

State Wide Cup

~ STATE WIDE CUP ~

After defeats in the Derwent games midweek, the OHA PL Men and Women faced opponents from the GNL in the State Cup on Saturday 19/6/21. The men played a South Burnie Hawks team that was augmented by three Uni PL players, and the women faced Queechy Penguins. In both games the Ships sailed through. The men had a 5-2 win, courtesy of braces to Ned Paynter and Ollie Smith, and a single to Sam McCambridge. The men were delighted to welcome back Jaxon Sproule from a lengthy injury rehab; and Will Boyce, who was on a brief visit home from Uni in Newcastle. With Henry rested ahead of the Under-21s championships, Josh Battersby took his place in the net. The men steadily accumulated goals for a 4-0 lead, then Burnie import Ben Read scored twice in the final quarter before a late goal to Ollie Smith sealed the strong result.

The women played into the evening and OHA never looked troubled in a 6-0 win that featured the return of Maddie Brooks from injury, and a Julia Gunn hat-trick. Single goals to Hannah Richards, Bree Macaulay and Maddie also kept the scoreboard ticking along. Not sure what happens next in the State Cup, as the 4 remaining men’s teams are the PL top-four, but in the women’s competition one GNL side remains. No doubt there will be an announcement from HT in due course about how the rest of the competition is to be played out.

The PL competition roster on the HT website is confusing in the next few weeks in regard to numbering of rounds, but it looks like the Ships don’t play again until Tuesday evening 29th, against Canterbury. For that match and the following Saturday (3rd July) against NWG, the OHA Under-21 reps will be away in Sydney at the National Championships (COVID and State Governments willing!)
